Buyer's guide

How to choose an MLM software provider

No provider is best for every business. The right one calculates your compensation plan correctly, lets you trace every number, leaves your company owning its data and has a team you can actually reach after launch. This page lists the criteria to compare every provider by, OMC included.

The short answer

Start from your compensation plan, not from a feature list. Send your plan document to two or three providers and ask each one to calculate commissions from the same sample data. The provider whose results match your own figures, who can show which bill each bonus came from, and who puts data ownership in writing is the one to continue with.

Price matters, but compare it only once you know what each quote includes: plan setup, data migration, hosting and support after launch.

Questions to ask every MLM software developer

Ask every provider the same questions so the answers can be compared, and ask for the answers in writing.

  1. Can you calculate our plan correctly?

Test with your own sample data and compare with your own figures.

  2. Can every bonus be traced to a bill?

Each line should show which bill and which rule produced it.

  3. Who owns the data, and can we export it?

Member and transaction data should belong to your company and be exportable.

  4. What rights do we get to the source code?

Put it in the contract, including what happens if you stop the service.

  5. Hosting and backups

Where, who manages it, how often, and how a restore works.

  6. Staff and member permissions

How fine-grained, and whose data each member can see.

  7. What happens to edits after a period closes?

Cancelled bills, returns and sponsor changes after a commission run.

  8. How is data moved from the old system?

Members, genealogy, accumulated volume — and whether sales must stop.

  9. What are the costs after launch?

Support, hosting, change requests and new features.

  10. How do we reach support?

Channels, language and agreed response times.

  11. Can we verify your company?

Legal name, office address and years in business, checkable in government records.

Warning signs

  • Promises that members will earn a certain income — software calculates a plan, it guarantees nobody's income
  • Refusing to test with your plan or sample data before you sign
  • No way to export your member and transaction data, or nothing about it in the contract
  • No verifiable legal entity or office address
  • Claims that using the software makes your business legal — registering a direct selling business is the operator's duty

Choosing MLM software: common questions

Which MLM software is the best?

None is best for every business. Compare providers by how they calculate your own plan on the same data, how numbers can be traced, data ownership in the contract and support after launch.

How many providers should we compare?

Usually two or three, using the same questions and the same sample data so the results are comparable.

Can foreign MLM software be used in Thailand?

Yes, but check the Thai-language member back office, Buddhist-era dates, the support team's working hours and the information needed for registration with the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB).

Who is OMC a good fit for?

Direct selling companies in Thailand that have their own compensation plan and want a system configured or developed around it, including companies moving from another system.
